Terms of Use

Last updated October 17, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Little Fern, the studio name of the independent developer who makes Hare & Shell (“we”). By playing, you agree to them. If you are a child, please read them with a parent or guardian, who agrees on your behalf.

If you downloaded the game from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If anything here conflicts with it, Apple’s terms win for the iOS app.

1. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play the game on devices you own or control, for non-commercial use. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the game, except where the law allows it.

2. Coins and cosmetic items

  • Coins and items are a licence to use virtual content in the game. They have no real-world value and can’t be exchanged for money.
  • Everything for sale is cosmetic. No purchase changes speed, stamina, sleepiness or your chance on any leaderboard.
  • Purchases are made through Apple or Google under their terms. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Use “Restore purchases” in the Shop to get your items back on a new device with the same store account.

3. Ads

The game shows rewarded ads only when you choose to watch one. Ads are provided by Google AdMob; we don’t control their content, but the game asks for family-friendly ads only.

4. Fair play and names

  • Don’t cheat: no modified apps, scripts, or tampering with scores or network traffic.
  • Choose a runner name that is kind. Names that are offensive, impersonate others or share personal details are not allowed.
  • We may remove leaderboard entries, rename players or block online features for anyone who breaks these rules.

5. Changes and availability

We update the game to fix bugs, rebalance and add content, which can change how things work. Online features (leaderboards, cloud save, daily race, friends) need an internet connection and may sometimes be unavailable. We may end online features with reasonable notice in the game; offline play keeps working.

6. Disclaimer and liability

The game is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress caused by events outside our control. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

7. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by deleting your data (Settings → Delete my data) and uninstalling the game. We may suspend online features for accounts that break these terms.

8. Privacy

How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.
